Some horses are naturally nervous animals and some are affected by particular situations such as travelling, competitions, sales and clipping. Horses have different thresholds in how they react to particular situations and as such, they need a supplement flexible enough to adapt to various situations. AnxiKalm contains two main ingredients, L-Tryptophan and Vitamin B, which in combination help decrease anxiety and instantly reduce the stress factor.
The key ingredient of AnxiKalm is L-Tryptophan, this is an amino acid that is converted to serotonin in the body. Combined with Vitamin B it is known to decrease anxiety and reduce the feelings that create stress. Magnesium has a long term calming effect. Magnesium is a key component for ensuring the integrity of nerve endings and the health of the mucus membranes that are key to an individual horse’s level of sensitivity. Levels of magnesium can be depleted by stress and anxiety and so need to be replenished.

Contains:
- Folic acid helps to reduce the high levels of homocysteine associated with anxiety.
- B Complex vitamins: Deficiencies in the B vitamins, particularly B6 & B1, have shown to result in anxiety. Based on niacin's well-recognised role in promoting good nerve cell function, some experts recommend this B vitamin for relieving feelings of anxiety and panic.
- L-tryptophan: The amino acid L-tryptophan (found in whole milk as well as other foods) is converted to serotonin in the body; increased serotonin levels generally decrease anxiety. Vitamins B6 is necessary for the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin.
- AnxiKalm Triple Strength Gel does not contain Valerian so can be used in competition.

| Instructions for use | Administration and quantity needs to be varied according to each individual horse or pony. Normally best given in a 2-3 hour window prior to riding or competition with the last being given at 1 hour 30 mins. Adult Horse: give 30ml (1 syringe) 2-3 hours prior to event. |
