You may have noticed we have the option to leave a charity donation on the front of website for Prince Fluffy Kareem, but what is this charity and how are we helping?

Firstly Supplement Solutions wants to say a massive thank you to all of our partner brands who have recently donated to this amazing cause. We have been absolutely blown away by their generosity and thoughtfulness in what they have provided for this charity.

Prince Fluffy Kareem, otherwise known as PFK is a UK Registered Charity who help horses, donkeys, camels, dogs and many other animals who are in need, based in the Pyramid area of Cairo, Egypt. They buy a lot of their health supplies through Supplement Solutions, such as foal milk, antiseptic creams, lotions, washes and more. Supplement Solutions continually support the work of PFK by offering a charity discount and donating items where possible.

Why do these animals need help?

Most of the animals PFK work with are kept by low-income owners. These owners are often sold underweight, injured or sick horses. The owners are then often forced to work these horses in order to pay off their debts. Access to veterinary care, farriers and quality feed is extremely restricted due to the owner's low income. This is where PFK step in to help.

PFK help by offering support and educating owners about the correct diet and care for their animals, working with these owners without judgement. Medical care is offered to horses free of charge at PFK's base, known as Fluffyland. This means owners can feel safe to ask for help and get their horse's the treatment they need. Horses and donkeys can stay for as long as they need, and are returned to their owners when healthy. Their owners can also bring them back at any time and ask for further help. Some horses are bought by PFK and retired at Fluffyland if they are not suitable to go back to being a working animal.

Thank You: Colostra sent to PFK
Thank You: Gut Gold sent to PFK
Thank You: PharmaTRAC sent to PFK

Cavalor have kindly donated some Colostra, this is much needed gold dust for PFK as they often have foals who need the additional support. Colostra is essential for helping foal's to healthily grow. Colostra provides vital colostrum for newborn foals when this cannot be supplied by the mare or the foal receives an insufficient amount. Colostra helps increase the level of immunoglobulins in the blood, to help strengthen the foal's defenses against pathogens such as viruses and bacteria during its first week of life. A solid start is essential to helping foals grow and develop, especially those brought to or born at Fluffyland.

NutriScience have helped by providing Gut Gold, a pre and probiotic supplement containing live yeast. The formula helps to achieve gut health but is also great for PFK as a lot of the horse's are malnourished, Gut Gold is suitable for all horses and will help them to get the most out of the feed they are being given.

BETTALIFE have donated a generous amount of PharmaTRAC, this supplement helps to target the foregut and hindgut whilst helping to maintain an optimal gastric environment, making it an ideal choice for horses on medication which may upset their digestive tract.

Audevard have provided Flymax Derm, a soothing skin lotion which will help to reduce itching caused by a reaction to flies or biting insects. As many of the horses have open wounds, management is key to helping keep flies away and allowing the wound to heal without becoming more inflamed from itching or rubbing.

Protexin have sent a very generous supply of Quick Fix syringes. These are an ideal choice for many of the horses who come into PFKs care as this will help to protect the good gut bacteria during times of change such as, medication, worming, change in feed or environment.

Hilton Herbs have kindly given the horse's a sweet treat by providing some Herballs, these are a great treat as they are the most natural way to treat your horse and are completely free of molasses, artificial sugars and flavorings! All horses deserve a treat and this is a great option for those in the care of PFK. They have also provided some Phytobalm cream, made from a soothing shea butter base this cream is ideal for use on minor wounds and skin irritations due to the the anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties.

Premier Performance have donated a generous amount of Gut Ease Cookies, these easy to feed cookies are a great addition as they can easily be fed from the hand and help support the good bacteria in the horse's gut which help to maintain appetite and aid digestion.
