Omega D Oil is liquid sunshine for horses. Omega D contains cold pressed flax seed with the correct balance of omega 3, 6 and 9 which are known as essential fatty acids. These Omega oils cannot be naturally produced by your horse. Vitamin D deficiency can occur in horses stabled for long periods with little or no natural sunlight. Deficiency in Vitamin D decreases calcium uptake, leading to stiffness, lameness, weak bones and swollen joints.
Your Horse and the Omega 3, 6, 9 Oils and Flax Oil Omega 3, 6 and 9 are known as the Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs). Your horse CANNOT naturally produce these Omega Oils. In terms of importance, it follows the numbers – Omega 3 fatty acid is the most important Omega followed by Omega 6 fatty acid and then Omega 9 fatty acid. The two most important essential fatty acids are Omega 3 and Omega 6. Each of these Omega fatty acids aids your horse in a particular way. "A little measure that delivers BIG results."

Omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory and help reduce pain, swelling, promote general well-being and are associated with glossy coats. Omega-6 fatty acids are pro-inflammatory and help to maintain your horse’s immune system. Flax Oil has by far the largest proportion of Omega 3 and the best ratio of Omega 3 fatty acids to Omega 6 fatty acids. So, what is important is the amount of Omega 3 oil and the amount of the Omega 6 oil AND the balance of these oils. Flax Oil has been proven to be the best oil to add to your horse’s feed.
