Drontal wormers have always been the first choice of wormer recommended by your vet. This is because of its wide spectrum of activity. The unique combination of proven active ingredients in both of the Drontal Cat and Dog formulations enables it to tackle tapeworms, roundworms and hookworms in fact, every type of intestinal worm your pet could normally get in the UK.
To avoid worms reaching maturity and affecting your pet's health, and to reduce public health risks, you should worm your pet regularly. Worming every three months will reduce this risk, but ask your vet who will be able to evaluate your pet's specific needs.
Drontal Worming Tablets for Cats come as normal or XL size dose (for cats over 6kg).
Drontal is effective for the control of the following gastrointestinal roundworms and tapeworms of cats and kittens:
- Ascarids: (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina)
- Tapeworms: (Taenia species, Dipylidium caninum)
How often should my cat be wormed
It is advised that an adult cat should be treated for worms at least every 3 months - however, there are instances when more frequent worming is recommended; this includes working of new kittens, cats / kittens which regularly hunt mice and other prey animals, & cats that have suffered a recent flea infestation as they are more at risk to being exposed to tapeworm.
