About Thomas Pettifer & Co
Thomas Pettifer & Co is a British company, which was founded in 1877 by Thomas Pettifer and Ernest Pettifer, two farriers from Northamptonshire. They began trading herbal concoctions and medicines that grew in popularity throughout Northamptonshire markets and agricultural shows.
After Thomas passed away in 1885, Ernest took over the business and it grew from strength to strength creating herbal veterinary medicines. In 1960 the business acquired a Royal Warrant for the supply of animal medicines and nutritional products to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. At the time, the company was run by Ronald Pettifer who would turn out to be the last Pettifer to own the company.
In 2018 the company was acquired by Talisker Bay International and given a facelift to better represent the brand in today’s modern age. Today Thomas Pettifer produces a range of herbal products to care for your horse including the popular Yukkabed and Green Oils.
